Celtic and Lennon start at Inverness Caley in SPL
Life begins on the road for Lenny

It’s only mid June and it already feels like a long summer for Celtic fans. The World Cup may be offering a distraction but you get the feeling the fans cannot wait to see if Neil Lennon can bring the thunder back to Celtic Park.
There is no need to bring it back on the first weekend of the season as Celtic will be starting at Inverness Caley. Such is the life when your city neighbours clinch the league; you know you will be starting your campaign away from home.
With eight league wins on the trot at the end of last season’s campaign when he was interim manager, Neil Lennon will be looking to continue his impressive SPL record right from the start.
Either way, the announcement of the SPL fixtures creates a new focus in everyone’s mind for the season ahead. The World Cup may be raging away but now players and fans can plan their visits and viewing activities (TV coverage aside), it suddenly becomes a bit more real.
The opening weekend fixtures are as follows:
Aberdeen v Hamilton,
Hearts v St Johnstone,
Inverness CT v Celtic,
Motherwell v Hibernian,
Rangers v Kilmarnock,
St Mirren v Dundee Utd,
As of yet, Celtic haven’t made any new signings under Neil Lennon but a new rumour has popped up today. Left back Charlie Mulgrew, formerly of Celtic is on his way out of Aberdeen and is being tipped for a return to Parkhead.
Charlie will fit into the recent Celtic tradition of being a left-back who cannot defend, although what he brings to his team in an attacking sense is very clear.
With Lee Naylor gone and Edson Braafheid being rated as not good enough to try to entice back, Celtic need to sort out their left-back position and Charlie Mulgrew could be the man.
Or he may not be…you know how these rumours work.
Celtic fans, looking forward to the new season?
