Can Kenny Miller singlehandedly win the league for Rangers?
Scoring run keeps on rolling

No man is an island…and no side is a one man team but the contribution of Kenny Miller to Rangers early season form has to be acknowledged and praised.
6 league games in and Miller has scored in every match…and with two doubles and a hat-trick in that 6 game run, Miller has already bagged 10 league goals already. That’s a phenomenal return in anyone’s language…which means the player is definitely in the driving seat when it comes to contract negotiations.
Rangers have to be careful to safeguard their asset and to either get money or sign the player up for longer but more importantly…the real trick is to keep the player in goal-scoring form.
Looking back at the goals Miller has grabbed this season, the importance of the strikes is clear to see.
Sat 14th August:
Rangers 2 v Kilmarnock 1
Miller scored once, so without his strike, a draw would have occurred, with 1 point for Rangers rather than 3.
Sun 22nd August:
Hibs 0 v Rangers 3
Kenny Miller grabbed all three with a second half hat-trick, so a draw would have occurred, with 1 point rather than 3.
Sat 28th August:
Rangers 2 v St Johnstone 1
Miller scored once, so a draw would have occurred, with 1 point rather than 3.
Sat 11th September:
Hamilton Accies 1 v Rangers 2
Kenny Miller grabbed a late winner, so a draw would have occurred, with 1 point rather than 3.
Sat 18th September:
Rangers 4 v Dundee United 0
Miller grabbed two goals but with an own goal and Stevie Naismith also chipping in with strikes, Rangers would have grabbed all 3 points without Millers goals.
Sun 26th September:
Aberdeen 2 v Rangers 3
With two goals, Rangers would have lost 2-1 without Millers goals, seeing them pick up 0 points rather than all 3.
The table indicates 18 points from 6 games but Kenny Millers goals have been directly responsible for 11 of them.
Of course, football doesn’t work like that – if Miller wasn’t playing or necessarily took his chances, it is not right to say that the games would have finished with the score line adjusted without Miller’s goals. However, it’s an interesting topic and as we said, worth highlighting to praise the fine scoring form of a player who has often been criticised.
So Gers fans…missing Kris Boyd yet?

how so? is he playing all 11 positions? what a ridiculous question! its a team game, all players in the squad will contribute to whatever success we get this year, OBVIOUSLY!
Aah JJ, if you actually read the article, we acknowledge that is not how football works.
It was…and wait for it…SHOCK HORROR…a headline to get people reading the article!!!
Still, thanks for reading.
He seems to be in a real hot streak at the moment, I’m sure if he was not hitting the back of the net there would be fans wanting Boyd back from Boro.
jelavic has had a few assists as well as goals ,look a very good pairing , keep it going they look simply the best
Strange to break it down by game
If Murphy hadnt scored his two pens this season the gap would be 4 points already…..
However, Miller has made an incredible start, now getting in postions the lumbering Boyd would have been taking up, his partnership with jelavic looks a good one in the making
Kenny must stay!
The contribution Naismith has made shouldnt be missed either, great to see him hitting a bit of form, also thought Big lee was superb today, talk about covering every blade of grass and doing thedonkey work! Not a player i am a massive fan of but credit where its due
Don’t think it’s strange at all Scooter – its actually quite a common review of a striker and their worth to the team.
True, the same review could made of Daryl Murphy’s two penalties….however, Kenny Miller has scored in every game so far, which is an excellent start to the season..and was just our way of acknowledging his importance to the team.
His scoring run is magnificent and long may it continue! Instead of doing all the running and donkey work for Boyd, he now has a partner who knows the game and can link up in way’s that Boyd could only dream of. Boyd was a scoring phenomenon, of that there is no doubt, but he very rarely managed to create a partnership with any other striker. Miller and Jelavic look to have a good chemistry and with Lafferty and Beattie in the background, it’s an area that we are strong in this season.
Loved the game yesterday, a real hum dinger! Love the fact that all the sheep will be gutted this morning as they threw away a two goal lead to the Rangers, the one fixture that means everything to these sad little men. You would think that the supporters would be up in arms at the team and the way in which it raises it’s game ten fold when we come visiting, but sadly they accept it, in fact they welcome it.
Another tough league game on the horizon against the Hearts next week at Tynecastle, wonder which one of the big two will blink first?
We said the exact same thing in reference to Hibs fans being chuffed with the workrate and performance against Celtic.
Common sense would see them raging for cheating the fans with limp performances in other games but sadly the hatred that many football fans in Scotland against the big two blinds them to the truth their players are sadly letting them down on multiple occasions.
As for Rangers, they will easily roll over a poor Hearts team at Tynecastle…with Celtic at Tannadice the weekend before they host Rangers, it may well be that will be the occasion of the first blink by the big two.
Maybe it would be a good idea to have all players on a 1 year contract the majority of them seem to play better in there last year!!!!!!!!
To be fair to Miller Danny, he has been in sparkling form since we re-signed him and doesn’t fall into that category, that said, there have been many examples over the years of just that instance.
Money, money, money ………….
