How much longer will McGhee get at Aberdeen?
It cannot continue this way

A sixth straight defeat for the dandy Dons has seen them slump to second bottom in the SPL, where only goal difference prevents them from holding up the rest. Injuries have certainly played a part in Aberdeen’s dismal showing but there has to come a time when Mark McGhee is removed from office.
There was a crunch period after the 9-0 defeat by Celtic and home defeat to Caley Thistle where it looked as though McGhee’s reign was over. The Dons board decided to stick with their man and in that respect, if that is their decision, they need to stick by it. However, it is not as if there will be too much money available (if any) to spend in the January transfer window and sometimes a change of face at the top can do wonders for a team.
At the moment, there is no shame in losing to a Kilmarnock team that have found new life under Mixu Paatelainen but that won’t appease the Dons fans. It’s the lack of spark in the Aberdeen team that is seeing the side defeat from the start that will be most worrying.
If you lose to a better team, you have to deal with it. If you lose because your team is unable to master the basics or have the creativity to get behind teams, it is a major problem for the club. It will be a long week on the training ground this week for Aberdeen as McGhee must mentally and tactically lift the team for next weekend.
The fact that Aberdeen are playing Celtic may actually work in their favour. They’ll have the jibes of paranoid Rangers fans ringing in their ears provoking a response from the Aberdeen players and surely a level of personal pride must kick in for the Dons. After losing 9-0 the last time against Celtic, there has to be a strong desire to turn that around?
When you couple this to the fact that Celtic are showing a lot of nerves and have dropped off the pace since that game, a positive result for Aberdeen is not beyond them. The players will have to show what they want it enough and if McGhee can build that into the players, he may get a stay of execution.

The reports from the game suggest that the players had downed tools and were basically cheating their manager, old sidemouth appears to have lost the dressing room.
Saturdays 5-0 humping from Celtic should see the end of him. Although rumours are sbound that Aberdeen can’t afford to sack him.
