Motherwell fans can sing Songs For Grella
Leeds United striker arrives at Fir Park on loan

Stuart McCall has made his moved into the transfer market as Motherwell boss by bringing in Leeds United striker Mike Grella.
Grella has clocked up 42 appearances for Leeds United but with only 9 of them being starts, 5 goals is not a bad return. Grella also nabbed three goals in 11 games on-loan at Carlise. These stats do not always tell the story of a player but he is capable of grabbing goals, which should be of benefit to Motherwell in the latter half of this season.
The Fir Park side are still in both cup competitions and although Hearts look completing the top three with the Glasgow sides, there is no reason why Motherwell could not grab fourth place. A lot will depend on how quickly McCall finds his feet.
McCall has allayed fears about the signing by indicating that the player has “two good feet”, which everyone will agree is pretty important in the modern game.
McCall is hopeful of adding to his squad before the close of the transfer window and he has added to his backroom staff this week. Kenny Black has been working with the Scottish squad of late and the former Airdrie player and boss has landed fully on his feet with this new appointment.
With a lot still at stake for Motherwell this season, Grella will be expected to hit the ground running but if he is half as good as the write-up McCall has given him, he could make an impression on the SPL.
EDIT: McCall didn’t have long to wait for his next addition as Walsall confirmed that winger Steve Jones has joined the Fir Park club until the end of the season.
