So, Celtic are title favourites Lee?

Right, the transfer window is now closed and all clubs have to go with what they have got.
One club has:
A ten point lead at the top of the SPL
A manager who has been over the course more times than he would care to remember
Lost once in the league this season
Is in one cup final with hopes of reaching another
The knowledge and experience of being current champions
Knows that winning the league (and subsequent Champions League status) could give them a financial boost
However, with all of that, Lee McCulloch says that Celtic, and not Rangers, are title favourites.
It’s a good gap but I still see Celtic as favourites to win the league, especially with us not bringing anyone in during the transfer window and Celtic signing eight players. In my book it makes them favourites for the title.
Reverse psychology is one thing, having a laugh and outright lying is something completely different!
This is a Celtic side who have drawn with Falkirk and lost to Hibs at home and Kilmarnock away in recent matches. They may be able to bounce back and go on a winning run but the evidence of this will not come from this season’s results.
No doubt McCulloch is trying to take the heat off his team and footballers make some throwaway remarks at times but you wonder if they ever think about what they say?
McCulloch is not someone who appears to be terribly bright but as a footballer, he hasn’t needed to be. His work rate, tenacity and grit have earned him a fine living and now see him playing at the club he supported as a boy, he has done well for himself.
However, when it comes to keeping a party line, it is probably better for some players to keep quiet and just allow Walter Smith to play the media like an old fiddle.
Do you agree with Lee?

well done to big lee when you spend all them wages on 3 loan deals [ problably as much as 75 percent of rangers 1st team wages ] you must want a return . to say the heats on rangers baffles me the heats on the east end ,no sorry no heat 10 below
EH?!?
Good article and let’s be honest, big lee is never going to play the media in the way in which Walter does so well.
If it was me………
Well were in a strong position and if we maintain our current form and focus on one game at a time, we should be in a nice position come May. But let’s not get carried away here, Celtic have made a real positrive statement ofintent in this January window, never in the histopry of the SPL has one club made such big purchases at such a crucial time of the season. Fair play to them and they will be a big threat to us, make no mistake about that. Robbie Keane is a fantastic player and will score quite a few goals for them in the weeks ahead. I’m sure the expectation levels will be even higher now from the Celtic supporters, who will demand that they close the gap at the very least.
But we know what we have to do, were a tight unit and if we can stay clear of injury and suspensions, we will be doing just fine.
Let the others come after us, we welcome the chase.

IMO, Big Lee is being honest. When you consider the amount of players the Tic have brought in. Gers are only starting to get thier injured players back and are liable to drop points. There is a long way to go before the end of the season. If Celtics new signings are as good as Mr Mowbray thinks then their is a fair chance of Tic eating away at Gers’ 10 points. Not forgetting there is 2 more OF games still to come. I for one, am a Gers season ticket holder not counting my chickens.
