Rangers want the hoops to qualify for Champions League
Extra £100,000 for them if they do

No, we haven’t flipped out in a Mark Hately style; we are not suggesting that a Celtic triumph would be of benefit to Rangers. We are talking about Bursaspor, the Turkish side that Kenny Miller has signed for and of course, the team that caused a bit of controversy with their green and white hooped change kit.
There appears to be confirmation of the fee that Rangers have received for Miller. The figure appears to be £400,000 up front and an additional £100,000 if Bursaspor qualify for the Champions League.
It is not quite the potential £1.1m that Birmingham City allegedly offered for Miller but the extra £100,000 would come in handy if Rangers receive it.
Now that the Miller situation has been concluded, Rangers can appraise their own situation better. Walter Smith may decide that Nikica Jelavic will be able to fill the goal-scoring boots of Miller but many will be hoping for a striking signing or loanee coming in.
The recent rumour mill has once again mentioned David Healy with an Ibrox move and this is one which will certainly appeal to the player, if not all of the fans. Healy’s career has been on a downward trajectory in recent times but perhaps a move to Ibrox could kick-start his goal-scoring form again.
Will Miller prosper in Turkey?

Your getting as bad as the Daily Star with your headlines!
As for Miller, good luck to the boy. who wouldve thought after his fairly moderate display at Celtic he would go on to win 2 SPL titles, score in the Champions League and get paid £50K a week from a team that look like the Livingston of the Turkish League. He had a very successful time at Ibrox and certainly won over the faithful who were very quick to sing ‘You can stick your Kenny Miller up yer arse’ myself included.
As for what’s left, we we survived without Boyd last season as Miller dutifully stepped up to the plate. We must now hope that Jelavic can do the same. As for Healy, certainly on the way down in his career, perhaps a few goals in the SPL can re-ignite his confidence, who knows?
The title…yes, well – given that the previous article (Motherwell fans can sing songs for Grella) had a title which drew from a concept album Lou Reed and John Cale recorded about Andy Warhol, we decided to keep this one simple.
Is it any wonder all the other football sites can bully us?
All of the talk of Rangers being done now that Miller is gone is either
a) hysteria from Rangers fans or
b) wishful thinking from Celtic fans
Clubs adapt and move on – no one is bigger than the club and lets be honest – far far better players than Kenny Miller have left Rangers and Celtic in recent years. The style of play at both teams made Miller a player more likely to succeed at Rangers than at Celtic but he can look back on his time in Scottish football and be happy enough with his achivements and delighted with his bank balance.
What’s your take on Martin Bain and his earlier comments about Miller not being sold in January?
Has he went back on his word or was he extremely foolish to try and make promises he has no ability to keep?
Player power wins every time Ed. He was damned if he did and damned if he didn’t. As soon as Miller indicated that any new deal would likely be snubbed and a pre contract looked at, games a bogey.
It’s the same shit different day with Rangers at present, no long term strategy and living hand to mouth until our absentee landlord decides to sell up or finds a buyer. Both look like being a distant dream at the moment.
If Walter pulls off another title, then his legendary status is confirmed. It’s what he’s going to leave behind that worries me, Davis will be in exactly the same position this time next year (if he’s not sold by then) and McCoist will be hamstrung if there no new investment in the squad.
Missing the point Quags Bain lied end of story.
bain offered miller 50 grand a week tax free to stay, ffs get real its either 400 grand or heehaw and how or why could rangers match they wages . what happened with kapo thats the quickest 18 months ever .
Celtic and Kapo had an agreed break in their deal in January.
With 50 minutes (maximum) of game-time, it was a hard call to say that Kapo was deserving of longer…or the money he thought he was earned. Kapo wasn’t happy but without the other side of the story, who knows what really happened.
Still deflect and deny Jaz, deflect and deny.
This article has nothing to do with Kapo
deflect and deny lol theres not a player in scotland that would knock back 50 grand tax free at 31 or are you telling me they would . ffs
You were the one who brought up Kapo – deflection.
The question was about whether Bain was telling lies or whether he should have been making they comments in the first place- you denied.
You can surely see why deflect and deny was brought up, can’t you?
No one is questioning Miller for signing that deal, I don’t think anyone was.
Who said there was jaz????????
ps Bain lied
Yes Bain lied as has his puppet master Murray for years, we are at the moment customers of our great club, not viewed as supporters unfortunately.
