Rangers romp home in Cup rout
Goals! Goals! Goals!

We’re certainly not saying the Ibrox crowd are a Motley Crue but they were treated to Goals! Goals! Goals! at Ibrox in the League Cup tonight. It says a lot about the crazy world of football that at times during the match the Rangers fans would have been feeling a bit nervous but the final score emphasised the difference between the SPL champions and the 1st Division side.
The much maligned Kyle Lafferty hit a hat-trick with Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic nabbing two goals in front of the Ibrox crowd. A 3-1 lead after 38 minutes for Rangers was whittled back to 3-2 a minute into the second half but from there on in, Rangers stepped up a gear and took their Ibrox tally to 11 in a couple of days.
A slightly reshuffled home side wasted very little time in getting the match put to bed and with bigger tasks and challenges ahead, it was certainly the correct attitude by Rangers. The opening goal by Nikica Jelavic would have settled the nerves of the crowd regarding the tie but also with respect to the strikers ability to grab goals.
The Croatian hitman opened his account for Rangers at New Douglas Park but scoring at your home ground is a big deal for any striker and Jelavic doubled his Ibrox tally just before the hour.
With Madjid Bougherra and Steven Naismith also on the score-sheet, Rangers fans can be delighted with their victory and move confidently into the next round, continuing their hopes of clinching a treble.

Very good result from the Rangers last night. Was pleasing to see Little, Hutton & Webster all come into the team and make an impact. Big Kyle had a night to remember and it’s pleasing that our strikers are on form at present with Jelavic now beginning to look fitter, his quality will definitely shine, his second goal last night was special, lovely overhead kick something you always wanted to do in the park as a kid!
Credit to the Pars fans who were there in their numbers last night and gave their team good backing, well except for the Hail Hail song!!
Knowing Scottish football, I take it the draw will take place a week on Monday at 4pm and not immediately after the game tonight!
Did Kyle Lafferty do the Robot after his three goals last night?
Think it’s now shelved Dub as part of the new ‘serious’ Kyle.
